Nearly 223,000 VW Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport SUVs Recalled for Faulty Airbags
In addition to sunken ships and a war going on outside, Volkswagen is now issuing a recall for almost 223,000 of its popular Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport SUVs over defective frontal side airbags.

Affected SUVs include model-year 2019-23 Atlases and model-year 2020-23 Atlas Cross Sports. The issue stems from door wiring harness electrical contacts that may corrode, disrupting the electrical connection and delaying the deployment of the driver or passenger front side airbag during a side-impact crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy is currently under development, but interim notification letters will be sent to owners beginning May 10; VW will send a second notice once the remedy is in place.
