More 2016 Acura NSX Details and Photos

The NSX had a lot to live up to with all the hype that’s developed around the car’s return over the last few years, but the finally arrived production model did. It’s modern, sleek and aggressive, yet it retains a clear design connection with the original NSX. During the car’s reveal, Acura said team members from the original NSX project were part of the group working on the new car.

The front-end looks good and appropriately exotic. It’s covered with cooling inlets and a slim version of Acura’s corporate shield grille. The car is designed so air flows through the front inlets and out the hood and fender vents, both of which are new design elements since the last NSX concept. The rear gets a prominent diffuser and quad exhaust outlets. The overall look is more McLaren than Ferrari or Lamborghini.
Cabin materials are a little more upscale compared to the brand’s current models. We only got a glimpse of the cabin, though, as Acura personnel were intent on preventing media from opening the doors and sitting in the car.
Considering how tight-lipped Acura was regarding many of the NSX’s performance details, it was surprising to hear the brand mention what the car will cost when it arrives later this year: around $150,000. That’s right in the realm of what competitors like the Audi R8, BMW i8 and Nissan GT-R command.
