Mitsubishi Drops Pricing and Equipment Details for Face-Lifted 2025 Outlander

Mitsubishi has made a big deal about its face-lifted Outlander, trickling out teasers and tidbits of information as though it was unveiling the next generation-defining breakthrough vehicle instead of a lightly revised three-row compact SUV. In a way, the Outlander is a generation-defining breakthrough to Mitsubishi, accounting for more than half of the brand’s sales since the current generation debuted for the 2022 model year. The rest of us, though, are unlikely to notice much change. And now, Mitsubishi has released pricing for the 2025 model’s full lineup.

Trim Levels
Mitsubishi says only that the updated Outlander includes “a full suite of driver-alert and safety features,” but the automaker does not go into any more detail than to mention that blind spot monitors are standard. Presumably, the 2024 model’s roster will carry over, in which case the 2025 Outlander will also include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, a driver attention monitor, automatic high beams and rear parking sensors.
The entry-level ES trim rides on 18-inch wheels (new designs for 18- and 20-inch sizes are part of the update) and features full LED exterior lighting including restyled taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-speaker Yamaha sound system, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Heated front seats are included with AWD.
One step up, the SE bolsters the safety suite with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering steering for hands-on semi-autonomous highway driving, plus road-sign recognition and front parking sensors. The SE gets 20-inch wheels, as well as a hands-free power liftgate and wireless phone charger; front-wheel-drive versions also get heated front seats. An available $3,200 Tech Package adds a 12-speaker Yamaha audio system, panoramic moonroof and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Mitsubishi starts stuffing the Outlander with luxury features in the SEL, which boasts a panoramic moonroof, quilted leather upholstery, aluminum pedals, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats and three-zone automatic climate control.
At the top of the Outlander lineup is the Platinum, which will again be offered only in black with a silver roof and a gray leather interior. The Platinum also includes the 12-speaker Yamaha sound system, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and exclusive interior and exterior badging. Buyers interested in the Platinum’s tech upgrades but looking for more color choices can save $1,300 by opting for the SEL with the Premium Package, which gets a brown leather interior and also sports a contrasting roof.
What’s New for the 2025 Outlander?
For 2025, the Outlander’s grille looks a little different, as does the lower portion of the front bumper. The SUV also gets some more meaningful updates. Mitsubishi recalibrated the springs, shocks, anti-roll bars and power steering, aiming for a better ride and handling balance. It’s also seeking more serenity in the cabin, with more insulation to cut interior noise and newly available luxury features like the Yamaha sound system and the model’s first-ever ventilated seats.
Powertrain Specs and MPG
The Outlander’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine carries over unchanged for 2025. It generates 181 horsepower and 181 pounds-feet of torque and is teamed with a continuously variable automatic transmission. FWD is standard with AWD available.
Official fuel-economy ratings are not yet available for the updated Outlander, but the figures are unlikely to change from the 2024 model’s. The 2024 Outlander returned EPA-rated 24/31/27 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 24/30/26 mpg with AWD.
