Powertrain Specs and MPG

The 2025 Cooper S is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 201 horsepower and 221 pounds-feet of torque — increases of 12 and 15, respectively, over the outgoing model. Only available with a seven-speed automatic transmission, the Cooper S is front-wheel drive.

Mini claims the combo will allow the Cooper S to hit 60 mph from a standstill in 6.3 seconds. The brand isn’t sharing fuel-economy estimates yet, but with both power and weight up over the 2024 model’s, expect figures to drop somewhat from the current version’s EPA-estimated 28/38/31 mpg city/highway/combined.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Mini Cooper S will start arriving at dealers in May. Full line pricing, including $995 for delivery, is as follows:

  • Signature: $33,195
  • Signature Plus: $35,595
  • Iconic: $37,295

Trim Levels and Safety Features

Riding on 17-inch wheels and available in a limited color palette, the Cooper S Signature also features LED headlights with automatic high beams, a panoramic moonroof, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats. Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Signature Plus adds an assortment of 17- and 18-inch wheels, a greater range of paint and roof colors, synthetic leather upholstery, remote start, keyless entry and starting, and wireless phone charging. The Plus also adds Mini Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert. Moving up to the Iconic trim adds auto-dimming mirrors inside and out, power-adjustable front seats, navigation, a Harman Kardon sound system and automated parking.

In addition to the trim-level hierarchy and numerous available packages and options, Mini offers the Cooper S in two “styles,” which are largely cosmetic appearance packages. The base Signature trim is only offered in the Classic Style, which includes a body-color roof, black exterior accents and a black interior. The Favoured Style is available for no extra cost on the Signature Plus and Iconic trim levels; it features silver exterior trim and, by virtue of being on the pricier trims, additional paint and roof colors.
