Here it is, our final installment at the year in car news here on Kicking Tires. We find a lot happening between winter holidays as we prepare for an even busier 2007.
We finish wrapping up our L.A. Auto Show coverage with some winners and loser among the concept and production vehicles that debuted and even some video. Joe Wiesenfelder even gets stranded there due to bad weather.
Kelley Blue Book tells us what the best new cars for resale value is and we believe them while J.D. Power says Toyota has the best buyer retention for new cars.
Before we finish unpacking from L.A., information about the Detroit auto show leaks out including early glimpses of cars from Lexus, Chevy, Volvo, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota.
Saturn makes it official: It is the American version of Opel, with the Astra coming stateside in 2007. Speaking of global car news, Buick looks to be more popular in China than in the U.S.
Volvo goes a little over the top with safety equipment.
Over the course of a day, GM stops selling the new Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia and then puts them back on sale once a small flaw in the motor mount is discovered and easily fixed at dealers before any of the new crossovers are delivered.
We find one more reason not to drive in New York City and one good reason to drive a Nissan Versa.
