CARS.COM — You don’t have to look much farther than the recently unveiled 2018 Lexus LS 500 to get a feel for the state of the full-size luxury car, but if you want a glimpse into the world of luxury in the late 1960s, you need to look at this 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham.

Based on the ninth generation of Cadillac’s Sixty Special, this Fleetwood Brougham is powered by a 7.0-liter V-8 engine. It’s a stock example with a little more than 15,000 miles on its odometer, according to the seller. The exterior paint is showing its age, but the green interior appears to be in good shape.

While it doesn’t have massaging seats or a heated steering wheel, this Cadillac is fitted with power windows and locks, rear-seat footrests, and backseat writing tables — all features that would have been considered luxury items in 1967.

As status symbols go, a luxury car isn’t a bad one, but modern flagship luxury sedans are relatively common in certain parts of the U.S. There’s nothing common about this Cadillac, though, which will make a much larger entrance wherever it goes than any car with a $7,990 asking price has a right to — even with its imperfect paint. If it were mine, I’d leave everything as is and just drive it.

What do you think — is this massive luxury sedan worth the seller’s asking price? Let us know in the comments section below.
