Liquid Loveless: Audi Q5, SQ5 Recalled Over Rear-Seat Spills
Some 289,000 Audi Q5 SUVs are being recalled following the discovery that a gateway control module shutdown could reduce engine power.

The recall affects model-year 2021-22 Audi Q5 Sportback and SQ5 Sportback SUVs, and model-year 2018-22 Q5 and SQ5 SUVs. The brand detailed that a liquid spill in the rear seat, or water ingress from an insufficient body seam underneath the vehicle, may allow liquid to penetrate the gateway control module, causing it to shutdown. A gateway control module shutdown will suddenly reduce engine power, increasing the risk of a crash.
As a remedy, dealers will install a protective cover on the gateway control module and seal an underbody seam, as necessary, for free.
