CARS.COM — On the heels of its headlight teaser, Infiniti today released a full image of the QX80 Monograph concept SUV that will be unveiled April 11 at an event ahead of the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
The luxury brand says the concept, designed in Japan, shows how the design “could evolve” for its current QX80 full-size SUV. “QX80 Monograph … is an exploration into how we could enhance our future Infiniti offering in the luxury SUV segment,” said Roland Krueger, president of Infiniti Motor Company, in a statement.
The concept bears a clear resemblance to the current QX80 design, which dates to 2011, but with more luxury in the look and a little less eccentricity. The aggressive face is more deeply sculpted and carries a bigger grille in the “double-arch” shape that now is an Infiniti signature. The front fenders are more angular and the headlights rise to a more typical location to stretch around the corners. The rear roof pillar still angles forward, but with a new shape.
