Hyundai Orchestrates Few Changes for 2023 Sonata, Starts at $26,045
The Hyundai Sonata is facing an uncertain fate, with rumors swirling about it potentially being on the chopping block. However, that hasn’t stopped Hyundai from making small updates to the 2023 Sonata to help it stay fresh against rivals like the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.

Sonata Enters 2023 With Light Changes
Following a redesign for the 2020 model year and the addition of a sporty N Line variant for 2021, the mid-size sedan enters 2023 with minor changes aimed at shuffling the equipment lineup. The SEL trim gets the bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system standard, while the SEL Plus loses the option of Highway Driving Assist. One other change is the removal of the solar roof option for the Sonata Hybrid, replaced instead with a panoramic sunroof; Hyundai didn’t say why, but we suspect low sales and the minimal gain in battery range after a full day of soaking up the sun’s rays (3-4 miles) played a role in the decision.
Pricing
Pricing for the Sonata lineup, all of which are on sale now, is as follows (includes $1,095 destination charge, up $50 from 2022):
- SE: $26,045
- SEL: $28,570
- SEL Plus: $33,070
- N Line: $35,420
- Limited: $36,070
- Hybrid Blue: $29,045
- Hybrid SEL: $32,395
- Hybrid Limited: $37,345
With such minor changes to the lineup overall, most price increases over 2022 are in the $400-$600 range; the exceptions are $1,000-plus increases for the SEL and Limited. The SEL’s Convenience Package adds $2,200 to the base price of the SEL.
