Owners of Hyundai and Genesis electric vehicles in the U.S. can now access 20,000 Tesla Superchargers. In addition, owners can also receive a complimentary North American Charging Standard adapter. The offer applies to the Hyundai Kona Electric, Ioniq Electric, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5 N, as well as the Genesis GV60, Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80. (Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury brand.) Owners who purchased or leased their vehicles on or before Jan. 31, 2025, are eligible for the offer.
How Can Hyundai and Genesis EV Owners Get a NACS Adapter?
Eligible customers will receive emails starting the week of April 7 with instructions to claim their adapters. To qualify, owners must have an active MyHyundai or MyGenesis account and be opted into email communications. Owners can then claim their complimentary adapter by verifying their vehicle details and shipping information through their respective brand accounts. If any updates are needed, customers must modify their information before completing the request. Hyundai and Genesis will provide one adapter per eligible vehicle at no cost, and customers must complete the redemption process within 60 days of receiving their invitation.
Hyundai’s move doubles the fast-charging options for its EV owners and is part of a broader effort to expand charging accessibility. The automaker is also integrating native NACS ports in upcoming models, including the 2025 Ioniq 5 and 2026 Ioniq 9. Similarly, Genesis will make NACS ports standard on all 2026 models.
Hyundai and Genesis models with built-in NACS ports will not qualify for a complimentary adapter.
