The odometer reading on your vehicle is the best guide for when to rotate your tires. Many tire and vehicle manufacturers recommend tires be rotated every 6,000-8,000 miles so they can take turns being mounted in front and in back (and often on different sides). You can’t tell only by looking that it’s time to rotate them, so following a regular schedule — such as every 6,000 miles or every six months — will help your tires wear evenly and last longer. This applies whether you have front-, rear- or all-wheel drive.
