Editor’s note: This Car Seat Check was published in March 2023 about the 2023 Infiniti QX60; little has changed with the 2024 model. See what’s new for 2024 or check out a side-by-side comparison of the model years.

The verdict: The three-row Infiniti QX60 SUV was redesigned for 2022 and largely carried over for 2023. For this Car Seat Check, we tested the top Autograph trim equipped with second-row captain’s chairs, which has a total capacity of six people. Ample second-row room and easy-access anchors helped earn the QX60 high grades, but the third row can be tricky.

Does it fit three car seats? No.

Take a look at how the Latch system and each car seat scored below in our Car Seat Check of the 2023 Infiniti QX60.

A Grade

  • Latch: The second row has two sets of lower anchors that are easy to use. Two top tether anchors sit midway down the seatbacks.
  • Third-row Latch: The third row has one set of lower anchors on the driver’s side. They’re exposed for easy connection. There’s one top tether anchor on the seatback; it was easy to find and use.
  • Rear-facing convertible: This seat was easy to install thanks to accessible Latch anchors, and the front passenger had ample legroom.
  • Forward-facing convertible: This seat was easy to install in the second row and fit well. We had no trouble connecting to the top tether anchor.
  • Infant: As with the rear-facing convertible, installation was easy, and the front passenger had a comfortable amount of legroom.

B Grade

  • Booster: In the second row, the booster fit well, but the buckles sit low in the cushion, which could make them tough for kids to grasp and use independently.
  • Third-row access: The QX60 has a high step-in height, and the version we tested didn’t have running boards, making the step in even higher; smaller children will need a boost. There’s a large opening to the third row, however, making ingress easier.
  • Third-row forward-facing convertible: Legroom is a problem unless the second row slides forward, opening up more third-row space. There’s one lower anchor in the third row, on the driver’s side. Connecting to the top tether anchor on the seatback was easy; per the owner’s manual, we routed the tether strap around the interior of the head restraint.

C Grade

  • Third-row booster: Again, legroom was an issue. Also, there was barely enough seat space to accommodate the width of the booster, and kids will likely have trouble finding and using the buckle. It is embedded in the bottom cushion and can be tough to grasp.

Grading Scale

A: Plenty of room for the car seat and the child; doesn’t impact driver or front-passenger legroom. Easy to find and connect to Latch and tether anchors. No fit issues involving head restraint or seat contouring. Easy access to the third row.

B: One room, fit or connection issue. Some problems accessing the third row when available.

C: Marginal room plus one fit or connection issue. Difficult to access the third row when available.

D: Insufficient room, plus multiple fit or connection issues.

F: Does not fit or is unsafe.

About Cars.com’s Car Seat Checks

Editors Jennifer Geiger and Jennifer Newman are certified child safety seat installation technicians.

For the Car Seat Check, we use a Chicco KeyFit 30 infant-safety seat, a Graco Contender 65 convertible seat and Graco TurboBooster seat. The front seats are adjusted for a 6-foot driver and a shorter passenger. The three child seats are installed in the second row. The booster seat sits behind the driver’s seat, and the infant and convertible seats are installed behind the front passenger seat.

We also install the forward-facing convertible in the second row’s middle seat with the booster and infant seat in the outboard seats to see if three car seats will fit; a child sitting in the booster seat must be able to reach the seat belt buckle. If there’s a third row, we install the booster seat and a forward-facing convertible. Learn more about how we conduct our Car Seat Checks.

Parents should also remember that they can use the Latch system or a seat belt to install a car seat, and that Latch anchors have a weight limit of 65 pounds, including the weight of the child and the weight of the seat itself.
