Got a Great Jeep Easter Egg Idea? Here’s Your Chance to Make It a Reality


Everyone loves finding Easter eggs in their ride — whether it’s the cat and cub in a Jaguar E-Pace, the spider under the fuel door of a Jeep Renegade or the myriad examples in the latest Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in particular is known for including dozens of Easter eggs in its vehicles — and now, likely because FCA assumes you’ve been home and bored for the last three months or so, the automaker is giving you the chance to dream up an Easter egg for inclusion in an upcoming Jeep product.

Now through July 2, you can submit your ideas for the next Jeep Easter egg at TheNextJeepEasterEgg.com. The winner will be announced on July 31, but getting your idea into a future Jeep product isn’t the only prize; you’ll also win a new Jeep of your choice, which is a pretty fantastic Easter egg in itself.
“Jeep ‘Easter eggs’ started with the 2011 Grand Cherokee,” said Mark Allen, head of Jeep Design, in a statement. “We added small Jeep grilles inside the headlamp bulb shields. It was an off-the-cuff addition of a graphic to an otherwise standard piece. After that, we started sprinkling small graphics on various vehicles.
“When we did the refresh on the Wrangler, we added a small side profile of a Jeep climbing up from the corner of the windshield, which became a point of delight for the customer,” Allen said. “These small elements are a surprise and delight for our customers and help convey the human touch behind our products, which is appreciated.”

The contest works like this: After you submit your entry on the website, it will be judged by a panel of Jeep brand executives and designers. Criteria for winning will be based on the following, per Jeep’s statement:
- Creativity: The entry presents the idea for the “Easter egg” icon in a creative, effective and compelling manner (25%).
- Jeep brand power: The entry is in line with the Jeep brand spirit and is worthy of inclusion in the rare library of Jeep “Easter eggs” (25%).
- Quality/actionable: The entry expresses the idea for the “Easter egg” icon in a clear and easily understood manner that is doable on a future vehicle. The entry shows clarity of the thought process (25%).
- Originality/authenticity: The entry portrays a unique “Easter egg” idea that is clearly the entrant’s own idea and does not build upon any other idea or expression. The entry has a distinct conceptualization (25%).
… In other words, how creative is the idea, how “Jeepy” is it, how easy would it be for Jeep to do it and how original is it? So, get busy, America (and yes, you have to be a legal resident of the U.S. and over age 18 to play), and get your ideas into Jeep. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
