Ahead of the arrival of its first SUV, the Genesis GV80, and in an effort to further cement itself as a luxury brand, Hyundai’s upmarket vehicle division today announced that it has launched what it calls Genesis Concierge, a service designed to provide Genesis shoppers with a “white glove” car-buying experience.

The service provides customers with a “dedicated personal shopper” who will handle everything from the initial greeting of the customers all the way through the purchase process and even beyond with after-purchase follow-ups. The personal shopper will be the primary contact for both the customer and the dealership, answering questions the customer may have and “directly interfacing with the retailer.”

In addition to the shopping liaison, Genesis Concierge offers customers the option of at-home test drives and vehicle delivery to a customer’s desired location. These latter two offerings have gained particular prominence in the car-shopping conversation amid the coronavirus pandemic as automakers and dealers consider ways to minimize unnecessary contact in the future.

“Genesis Concierge is a tailored service that delivers a new level of personalized luxury because we are committed to delivering an experience that satisfies our customers on their terms, not ours,” Mark Del Rosso, president and CEO of Genesis Motor North America, said in a statement. “As with our popular Service Valet owner amenity, utilized by 90% of Genesis owners, Genesis Concierge shows we have great respect for our customers’ ultimate luxury — their time”
