Genesis is expanding — big time. Hyundai’s luxury brand announced Tuesday it’s opening 26 new stand-alone dealer facilities across the U.S., bringing the total to 35 facilities. The brand also announced expanded availability of its electric vehicles; Genesis EVs are now available for purchase or lease in 37 states, as it adds new retailers in Alabama, Kansas, Oregon and Rhode Island.
The announcement nearly quadruples the number of dealerships in the Genesis network. New stores are opening in Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.
Genesis says shoppers at the new stores can take advantage of the Genesis Concierge service, a complimentary service which provides a personal advisor to aid in the shopping experience, from scheduling test drives at the dealership or at home to arranging vehicle delivery.
The brand’s EVs (the GV60 and Electrified GV70 SUVs and Electrified G80 sedan) are now available at select retailers in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
EV availability expansion comes amid increased competition from other luxury automakers adding all-electrics to their lineups, such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
