Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-24 F-250s, F-350s and F-450s. Water may enter the Tailgate Park Assist Sensor Interface Module, causing the rearview camera image to appear blue or black or glitch intermittently. A lack of a rearview camera image can impede driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the problem, dealers will replace the tailgate top camera, wire harness and module, as well as update the software, for free. Ford will notify owners on Dec. 9, but those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 24S66), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
