The recalls keep on comin’ for the Blue Oval. Today, it’s more than 105,400 examples of the Ford Mustang that are affected by an issue with the exterior lighting.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2024-25 Mustang sports cars. Water may have entered the body control module in these vehicles; as a result, the license plate, side markers and taillights may not illuminate as intended, decreasing visibility for other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will inspect and seal the body seams, as well as inspect the body control module for corrosion and replace it, as necessary, for free. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed Sept. 1; a second letter will be sent out once the remedy is available, which Ford anticipates will be in the first quarter of 2026. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 25C43), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
