Face-Lifted 2025 Volvo XC90 Priced From $59,745

Almost 10 years after the current generation debuted, the three-row Volvo XC90 receives its first refresh for 2025. A minor but impactful exterior rework and thorough interior overhaul result in a sharp new look that upholds the brand’s minimalist design values. The underlying mechanical structure was barely changed aside from the addition of standard adaptive dampers.
With a base price of $59,745 (all prices include a $1,295 destination fee), the refreshed 2025 XC90 — technically a 2025.5 model — is $2,550 more than the 2024 model and $1,050 more expensive than the pre-face-lift 2025 models that are still on sale. The 2025.5 plug-in hybrid T8, previously known as the XC90 Recharge, costs only $1,100 more than its pre-face-lift version and $1,200 more than its 2024 counterpart.

Powertrain Specs and MPG
The XC90’s powertrain menu is based around a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but with a wealth of optional add-ons. The basic setup, called B5 by Volvo, is turbocharged and makes 247 horsepower and 266 pounds-feet of torque. It returns an EPA-rated 23/30/26 mpg city/highway/combined. Every XC90 pairs its engine with an eight-speed automatic and sends power to all four wheels.
The B6 engine adds a supercharger in addition to the turbo, cranking output to 295 hp and 310 pounds-feet, but dropping fuel economy to 20/26/23 mpg. Opt for the top-banana T8 and your turbo and supercharged four-cylinder is supplemented with a beefy electric motor that lofts the package to a combined 455 hp and 523 pounds-feet. With a 14.7-kilowatt-hour battery pack, the T8 can manage 33 miles of electric travel and returns 27 mpg combined with the deluxe 2.0-liter running.
Availability and Pricing
The refreshed 2025 Volvo XC90 is on sale now. Full line pricing for the updated XC90, including the $1,295 destination fee is as follows:
B5: $59,745
B6: $64,645
T8: $74,295
All three powertrains are available in three trim levels: Core, Plus and Ultra. Pricing above is for the Core trim; the Plus costs an additional $4,100 with the B5 powertrain and $2,800 with the B6 and T8. The Ultra trim is $8,500 more than the B5 Core and $7,200 for the B6 and T8 Core. Seven-passenger seating is standard, but the Plus and Ultra are available in a six-seat configuration with second-row captain’s chairs for $500 with every powertrain.
Safety Features and Trim Levels
Standard safety features on the face-lifted XC90 include forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitors with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, road-sign recognition, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and front and rear parking sensors.
With all three powertrains — B5, B6 and T8 — the Core trim level rides on 20-inch wheels and includes a panoramic moonroof, hands-free power liftgate, and keyless entry and starting. Faux-leather upholstery is standard, as are power-adjustable and heated front seats, four-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a crystal shift knob, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, and a 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Google Built-In, wireless phone charging and 10-speaker audio system.
The Plus trim level adds side parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, as well as headlight washers, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, an integrated child booster seat for the seven-seat models, 21-inch wheels, and upgraded interior trim and ambient lighting.
Step up to the Ultra and you get perforated Nappa leather seats, upgraded power front seats with ventilation, a head-up display, rear-window shades and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
