CARS.COM

Car Seats Affected: Approximately 519,000 Diono convertible car seats that transition to booster seats, including certain Radian R100, Radian R120, Radian RXT, Olympia, Pacifica and Rainier models

The Problem: When these seats are installed in the forward-facing position using the lap belt without also using the top tether, the seat may not adequately protect the child in a crash.

The Fix: Diono will notify owners and provide a free remedy kit with an updated instruction manual, an energy-absorbing pad and a new chest clip, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Diono will begin notifying owners of registered car seats Nov. 22. Owners can call the manufacturer at 855-463-4666, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to learn more.
