Cars.com Announces Nominees for Best of 2016 Awards

Cars.com has announced nominees for its annual Best of Awards. Award categories include Best of 2016, Best Pickup Truck of 2016, Eco-Friendly Car of the Year, Family Car of the Year, Luxury Car of the Year and Play Car of the Year. To qualify for a Cars.com award, each vehicle must demonstrate the highest levels of quality, innovation and value. The pickup trucks are judged on power, capability and value.

“Each year Cars.com experts test hundreds of new cars, and determine which are the overall best,” said Cars.com editor-in-chief Patrick Olsen. “Our awards are designed to help shoppers across a variety of segments and budgets choose the best vehicle for their needs. In addition to looking at the overall best new car and truck of the year, we determine which cars are best for families, luxury shoppers, fuel-economy-conscious drivers and those who just want to have fun behind the wheel.”

Each of the finalists for “Best of 2016” are the leaders in their respective segment as noted in the list.

Nominees for “Best of 2016” are:

• 2016 Chevrolet Malibu – Best New Midsize Sedan
• 2016 Honda Civic – Best New Compact Sedan
• 2016 Honda HR-V – Best New Subcompact SUV
• 2016 Kia Sorento – Best New SUV
• 2016 Toyota Prius – Best New Hybrid
• 2016 Volvo XC90 – Best New Luxury SUV

Nominees for “Best Pickup Truck of 2016” are:

 Nominees for “Family Car of the Year” are:

• 2016 Subaru Impreza

 Nominees for “Luxury Car of the Year” are:

• 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class
• 2016 Volvo S60

Nominees for “Play Car of the Year” are:

• 2016 BMW M235i
• 2016 Land Rover Range Rover
• 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet

Nominees for our Best of 2016 and Best Pickup Truck of 2016 must be all-new or fully redesigned models. Winners will be announced at Cars.com’s annual Best of Awards ceremony on Jan. 12, 2016.
