Buick Teases Wildcat-Inspired 2024 Envision, Adds Super Cruise
Buick is updating its Envision compact SUV with fresh styling and a revised interior, but the biggest news is on the tech front: For the first time, the Envision will get Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driver assistance system.

The Envision was last redesigned for 2021, and for 2024, Buick says the new model will wear styling inspired by the all-electric Wildcat EV concept, with similar design cues including an updated grille with the brand’s new body-mounted emblem on the hood.
The 2024 Envision will also be the first Buick to get the Super Cruise system, which is currently available on select Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles. Super Cruise uses a blend of lidar, radar sensors, cameras and GPS to tell the vehicle where it is while also allowing for hands-free driving on mapped sections of freeway. The system is currently compatible on more than 400,000 miles of roads in the U.S. and Canada.
GM, however, has already forward from Super Cruise with a new system, Ultra Cruise. It builds on Super Cruise by adding a new computing system that uses data from more than 20 sensors to help generate a full 360-degree, three-dimensional view of the vehicle’s surroundings. When it debuts on the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq, GM says it will be compatible on more than 2 million miles of mapped roadway with plans to expand an additional 3.4 million miles thereafter.
Buick was short on other 2024 Envision details and said more information would be released later in the year, so stay tuned.
