When the Ram 1500 TRX debuted for the 2021 model year, it upped the ante for extreme full-size off-road pickup trucks over its direct rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor, thanks to a delightfully insane supercharged V-8 engine and impressive levels of trail capability. But with Ford’s recent debut of the Raptor R, Ram has had to keep the TRX competitive with fresh options for shoppers — hence, the new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX Havoc Edition.
Like other recent special editions from Ram parent Stellantis (which additionally owns Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat and Jeep), the 1500 TRX Havoc Edition is mainly a styling package that uses the Level 2 Equipment Group as a launch point. The most immediately notable feature on this truck is the Baja Yellow exterior paint contrasted with black graphics and blacked-out 18-inch beadlock wheels. Things remain the same under the hood, with Havoc Editions powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 that produces 702 horsepower and 650 pounds-feet of torque; an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.
The interior gets Prowler Yellow accent stitching with embroidered TRX logos on the head restraints, carbon-fiber trim accents, a unique infotainment graphic featuring the truck in Baja Yellow, and a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather and carbon fiber. A badge on the center console denotes the truck’s place in the production order.
Ram confirmed the limited-run 2023 Ram 1500 TRX Havoc Edition will be making its way to dealerships early in 2023, with pricing starting at $106,445 (all prices include destination). That’s well above the TRX’s $82,485 starting price but still cheaper than a base Raptor R’s $109,145.
