The 2024 Kia EV9 electric mid-size SUV will have up to an EPA-estimated 304 miles of driving range when it arrives late in 2023, according to the automaker. This is the last and potentially most important piece of information yet to be revealed about the anticipated three-row EV, as the South Korean company had already announced pricing, trim levels and many of the available comfort, tech and safety features.

Now, we finally know how each of the four trims stack up in terms of available range. The EPA range estimates for the 2024 EV9 are as follows:

  • Light (76.1-kilowatt-hour battery): 230 miles
  • Light (99.8-kWh battery): 304 miles
  • Wind: 280 miles
  • Land: 280 miles
  • GT-Line: 270 miles

Starting at $56,395 (all prices include $1,495 destination fee), the entry-level Light rear-wheel-drive trim comes with a standard 76.1-kWh battery and single electric motor mounted at the rear axle; total output is 215 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. Optional is a 99.8-kWh battery pack that boosts driving range from a relatively low 230 miles to the EV9’s best of 304 miles; total output drops slightly, however, to 201 hp.

The Wind, Land and GT-Line trims come with the larger 99.8-kWh battery and two electric motors, with one mounted at each axle for all-wheel drive. In the Wind and Land, this equates to 379 hp and 443 pounds-feet of torque, as well as 280 miles of range. The GT-Line offers the same 379 hp, though range drops to 270 miles and torque rises to 516 pounds-feet.

The EV9 features four drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport and My Mode), and variants with AWD also have a Snow mode. And thanks to its standard DC fast charging that uses 800-volt architecture and an 11-kilowatt onboard charger, Kia states the EV9 needs less than 25 minutes to recharge from 10% to 80%.
