Acura Unleashes 320-HP Beast With 2024 Integra Type S
Last month, Acura announced that the 2024 Integra Type S was promising “ultimate street performance delivered with premium appointments,” and the brand is now delivering on that promise with the unveiling of the performance version of the compact sedan.

The 2024 Integra Type S features several distinctive characteristics over the base Integra. Up front is a new vented hood that improves airflow by 170%, according to Acura, a larger grille and bigger air intakes. The Type S is also 2.8 inches wider than the standard Integra variant, which is evident in the increased track widths (3.5 inches wider in the front and 1.9 inches larger in the rear) and the larger wheel flares that house lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels. Out back are a new rear diffuser and a decklid spoiler. Acura also decided to pay homage to 1990s’ models with all Type S models featuring the Integra name embossed on the front and rear bumpers.
The interior of the 2024 Integra Type S retains seating for four occupants and offers premium materials and Type S badging and logos throughout. The heated front sport seats feature simulated suede inserts and larger bolstering to help hold occupants in place during tight cornering. The steering wheel and shifter have perforated leather and contrast stitching, and the shift knob is made of dark anodized metal. Standard are a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, wireless device charging, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel and a 16-speaker audio system. Like the rest of the Integra lineup, the Type S comes standard with the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assistance features, which includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane-centering and lane-departure steering assists, and adaptive cruise control.
Performance for the 2024 Integra Type S comes from a 320-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. A less restrictive exhaust system features three exhaust tips and helps the engine perform at its full potential while producing a unique soundtrack thanks to a built-in active valve. The active exhaust gives changes for each driving mode; in Sport+ mode, the exhaust delivers “pops and bangs,” says Acura. Additionally, a standard limited-slip differential and adaptive dampers allow the power to be put on the ground more effectively.
Acura didn’t release official pricing for the 2024 Integra Type S but confirmed that the model will go on sale in June.
