In March, Honda recalled 65,000 Prologue and Acura ZDX electric SUVs over an issue with the rearview camera. (Acura is Honda’s luxury arm.) The automaker is now recalling more than 59,800 examples of the models over a different issue with the camera.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2024 ZDXs and model-year 2024-25 Prologues. The rearview camera may have been improperly bonded during manufacturing, causing the adhesive to separate over time and allowing for water intrusion into the assembly. Water intrusion can cause the internal electrical components to corrode. As a result, the rearview camera image may become blurry, distorted or go blank, decreasing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
To resolve the issue, dealers will replace the rearview camera for free. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue will be sent July 6, and additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Those with questions in the meantime can contact Honda at 888-234-2138 (Honda’s numbers for this recall are DO5 and RO6), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
