Affected vehicles include model-year 2020-25 Palisades. The seat belt buckle assemblies in the front- and second-row outer seats may contain out-of-spec components that could prevent the buckle from latching, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies, as necessary, for free. Until the remedy is performed, occupants are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick, direct motion and pull on the belt to confirm attachment. Hyundai will notify owners Nov. 10, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s number for this recall is 283), or visit NHTSA’s website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
