2026 Polestar 4 Starts at $57,800 in All Its Rear-Windowless Wonder


Do you like fastback electric SUVs? Do you hate rear windows? Or do you simply want something a little more unusual than the window-heavy status quo? Good news: The Polestar 4 compact electric SUV is finally on sale in the U.S., albeit with a slightly higher price than initially announced. It starts at $57,800 (all prices include a $1,400 destination fee).

The Polestar 4 was originally supposed to go on sale for the 2025 model year with a starting price of $56,300. The vehicle itself hasn’t changed since then, though, with it still using a rear roof-mounted high-definition camera as a workaround for its omission of a rear window.
Powertrain Specs and Range
Buyers get a choice between two powertrains: single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive. Polestar refers to both as “long-range” powertrains despite there not being a shorter-range version on sale right now.
The long-range single-motor comes with 272 horsepower and 253 pounds-feet of torque and achieves 300 miles of range, per the EPA. The long-range dual-motor doubles both of those output figures for a total of 544 hp and 506 pounds-feet of torque; it gets 272 miles of range. Polestar says the dual-motor 4 is the fastest production model it has produced, with a claimed 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds. Both versions come equipped with a 100-kilowatt-hour battery and are capable of 200-kilowatt DC fast charging as well as 11-kW AC charging.
What Is the 2026 Polestar 4’s Release Date and Pricing?
The 2026 Polestar 4 is live on Polestar’s online configurator and on sale now. All North American Polestar 4s will be manufactured at the company’s Busan, South Korea, plant starting in the summer, and deliveries are slated to begin in the fall. Pricing for each trim is as follows:
- Long Range Single Motor: $57,800
- Long Range Single Motor with Plus Pack: $63,300
- Long Range Dual Motor: $64,300
- Long Range Dual Motor with Plus Pack: $69,800
- Long Range Dual Motor with Plus and Performance Pack: $74,300
What Are the 2026 Polestar 4’s Trim Packages?
The Polestar 4 comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, power-operating soft-close liftgate, digital key that works with Apple devices, heat pump for more efficient climate control and a 360-degree camera system. Front-row occupants get to enjoy an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, six-way adjustable passenger seat and wireless phone charging. The infotainment system runs off of Google’s Built-In operating system and uses Google features such as its maps and voice assistant. All Polestar 4s are also equipped with the Pilot Pack group of driver-assist features; it includes lane change assist and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-centering steering.
The Plus Pack includes auto-dimming exterior mirrors, a heated steering wheel, head-up display, illuminated Polestar front logo, upgraded Harmon Kardon sound system, three-zone climate control, and a rear control panel for both audio and climate controls. It’s a big upgrade to the interior, with 12-way power-adjustable front seats with manual leg extensions and electronically reclining rear seats. The Plus Pack also comes with two more color options for the Polestar 4’s upholstery, as well as the ability to select a $3,700 upgrade that includes Nappa leather upholstery, massaging ventilated front seats with head restraint speakers and pillowy comfort head restraints in the back row.
The Performance Pack is only available with the long-range dual-motor powertrain and adds 22-inch forged-alloy wheels, “Swedish gold”-painted Brembo four-piston brake calipers with performance brake discs, summer performance tires and performance-oriented chassis tuning. The Swedish gold theme continues elsewhere, as well, with gold seat belts and gold valve stem caps.
