Powertrain Specs and MPG
The GLA250 is equipped with a 221-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine featuring mild-hybrid technology; it’s good for 258 pounds-feet of torque and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Mercedes says the GLA250 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds, and it has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 26/34/29 mpg city/highway/combined with standard front-wheel drive or 25/33/28 mpg with all-wheel drive.
The AMG GLA35 uses a more powerful 302-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 295 pounds-feet of torque; it accelerates from 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. With its standard AWD, EPA-estimated fuel economy is 22/28/24 mpg.
Trim Levels
The base GLA250 is equipped with synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting with 64 colors, dual 10.25-inch displays (one for the instrument cluster and one for infotainment), and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front seats are power-adjustable with memory functions, and heated front seats are available as an option.
The AMG GLA35 builds on the GLA250 with performance-oriented interior upgrades. It features sport seats, aluminum shift paddles, AMG badging and a flat-bottom AMG Performance steering wheel; leather upholstery with AMG-specific stitching is optional. The dual 10.25-inch displays remain but include AMG-specific performance menus, and a 12-speaker Burmester surround sound system is standard.
Both variants are customizable with additional features, packages and upholstery options.
