In 2023, luxury electric-vehicle maker Lucid announced it’s adopting Tesla’s Supercharger standard and hardware, and at the end of 2024, it began delivering the first non-Tesla vehicle to come equipped with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard charge port straight from the factory: the 2025 Lucid Gravity. (Hyundai also just released its 2025 Ioniq 5 with a factory NACS port, so it might be a tie.) Starting Friday, the Gravity will have access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. Lucid also released more details about the new SUV’s range and charging abilities.

Not only is Lucid promising easy charging at Superchargers thanks to the built-in port as well as its placement on the rear driver’s side for more convenient access to V3 and V4 Superchargers, it’s also promising fast charge speeds.

With its 926-volt architecture, Lucid says the Gravity can add as much as 200 miles of range to its 123-kilowatt-hour battery pack in just 12 minutes at peak charging rates. The company also says the SUV has up to 450 miles of range (official EPA estimates are not yet available).

Lucid says it developed new technology to allow the Gravity to charge at up to 400 kilowatts on 1,000-volt charging equipment and at sustained speeds of up to 225 kW on 500-volt architecture fast chargers (which include Tesla’s V3 Superchargers,).

What’s next? More Supercharger availability for other Lucid vehicles is coming. The automaker said access to the Tesla Supercharger network for the Lucid Air sedan is planned for the second quarter of 2025. Stay tuned for more.
