With elite automakers like Porsche and Lamborghini churning out 700-horsepower SUVs these days, what’s a little brand like Aston Martin have to do to stand out? Dump the weaklings, that’s what. For the 2025 model year, the Aston Martin DBX is ditching its 542-hp base engine and is now only available in the 707 trim. To celebrate the occasion, the 2025 DBX707 also gets a thorough interior rework featuring a new infotainment system.

About That 707

You’ll notice we didn’t say the DBX is only available with 707 hp. That’s because the way power is measured in the U.S. is different from the way it’s done in the rest of the world, so while the DBX707 does indeed generate 707 hp in the metric system, it’s rated 697 hp here. That’s still 155 hp more than the engine that previously powered the base DBX, and it’s enough to zing the DBX707 from 0-60 mph in just over 3 seconds and on to a claimed top speed of 193 mph. The DBX can tow nearly three tons, too.

The DBX707 makes that power with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine borrowed from Mercedes-AMG. It’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and sends power primarily to the rear wheels, but it can divert some to the front axle if necessary. Aston Martin didn’t just trim the lower-output mill from the lineup for marketing reasons; the brand says the DBX707’s “overwhelming popularity” made the decision. Engineers also recalibrated the air springs and electronic dampers underpinning the DBX707, likely to shave some of the edge off what was previously the high-performance version to help it appeal to a broader audience.

Interior Work

The DBX707’s driver faces a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch central touchscreen now runs Aston Martin’s own software and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior redesign separates the dash from the center console, creating a hard horizontal break between the upper and lower interior surfaces. Everything from the steering wheel to the door pulls have been redesigned, and new interior trim options include smoked oak and titanium mesh. The Inspire Comfort interior package features quilted leather with matrix embroidery, while the Inspire Sport interior receives different embroidery and simulated suede upholstery.

Exterior Tweaks

A couple minor exterior updates make for a sleeker appearance. The DBX707 now features flush-mounted door handles that present as the driver approaches the vehicle, and the side-mirror lenses are now flush with their housings. Instead of the lens pivoting in the housing to adjust mirror aim, the entire unit swivels. Aston Martin says that, in addition to allowing for improved packaging of the cameras for the 360-degree surround view system, this setup also increases the size of the mirror’s field of view.

If you had any doubts about the British preference for the color green, put them to rest now. The 2025 DBX707 introduces five new paint colors to the palette, as well as one that’s been promoted from special edition to the standard catalog. Four of the new hues are shades of green: Aura Green, Malachite Green, Podium Green and Sprint Green; non-green colors are Epsilon Black and Helios Yellow. Wheels in 22- and 23-inch sizes are also available in a variety of colors to elevate the look of the SUV.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 will go on sale in the second quarter of this year. Pricing has not yet been announced but will likely land around $250,000.
