Ahead of its global debut next month, Porsche has unveiled several images of the 2024 Cayenne’s interior, which borrows some key elements from the all-electric Taycan and debuts the all-new Porsche Driver Experience system.

The Porsche Driver Experience system shares some core similarities with parent company Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit system. The 12.6-inch instrument panel screen features seven selectable displays, including navigation, the tachometer, optional Night Vision Assist and the 3D driving assistance system. Owners can even choose to alter the look of the instruments to their tastes; a simplified view that displays the essentials and a classic mode that replicates the five-gauge setup that defined older Porsche analog displays are available.

The 2024 Cayenne uses a reworked version of the 911 sports car’s steering wheel, which has an integrated driving-mode switch to allow drivers to select from Normal, Offroad, Sport and Sport Plus modes. The steering wheel also includes a control lever for the driver-assist systems, a toggle switch for selecting instrument panel functions and controls for the optional head-up display. A new push-start button sits to the left of the steering wheel, and the gear shifter has been moved to the right of it; a control dial for the climate control system takes its place on the center console.

A 12.3-inch infotainment screen comes bundled with driving and comfort functions, including the standard online navigation and multimedia controls. The system pairs with mobile phones by using a scannable QR code, which then allows access to other features including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Spotify and Apple Music. An all-new 10.9-inch touchscreen mounted on the right side of the dash allows the front passenger to operate the navigation system or use the multimedia interface; it features a screen filter to help block the driver from seeing what’s on the screen to reduce distractions. Additionally, a new standard cooled wireless charging pad provides up to 15 watts of charging power to mobile devices, and all air outlets in the cabin lack louvers for the first time, says Porsche.
