Powertrain and Cargo Specs
Both the Mirage and Mirage G4 come with front-wheel drive and are powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Mirage hatchback gets an EPA-rated 39 mpg combined, and the Mirage G4 sedan gets 34 mpg combined.
Though compact, the Mirage and Mirage G4 still offer space. The Mirage hatchback has five seats and 17.1 cubic feet of cargo room, which increases to 47 cubic feet when the seats are folded down, according to Mitsubishi’s measurements. The Mirage G4 has 12.4 cubic feet of space in its trunk.
Convenience and Technology
The Mirage and Mirage G4’s hands-free smartphone compatibility lets drivers send and dictate texts, stream music and take phone calls without taking their hands off the wheel. Both models have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth, which can be accessed through a 7-inch touchscreen display.
Both models come with keyless entry, which allows drivers to push the handle once to unlock the driver-side door and twice to unlock all the doors. Additionally, the SE trim of both models comes with push-button start.
Safety
Standard on all trims is a variety of safety features. Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection alerts the driver of a car or pedestrian ahead and activates the brakes when there is a risk of collision. Other standard safety features include hill start assist, seven airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, brake assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, active stability control and traction control.
The SE trim is available with lane departure warning, which monitors the vehicle’s lane position and alerts the driver with audio-visual cues if the vehicle is drifting out of the lane. Additionally, the LE trim of both models offers automatic high beams that can detect oncoming traffic and automatically switch to low beams to prevent glare for other drivers.
Design
For 2024, the Mirage and G4 welcome two new exterior metallic-color options: Graphite Gray and Jet Black. Other metallic color options include Infrared, Sapphire Blue, Starlight Silver and Wine Red. Sand Yellow is only available for the Mirage hatchback, and White Diamond is available on both models for an extra cost.
The ES CVT is the base trim for both models and features automatic climate control, as well as steering-wheel audio and phone controls, which are standard features on the following trims.
The LE is one step above the ES CVT with only largely cosmetic differences. The LE upgrades the wheels to 14-inch alloys on the Mirage hatchback and 15-inch alloys on the Mirage G4.
The SE trim includes the biggest convenience and technology upgrades to both models, including heated front seats, LED headlights, automatic high beams, keyless entry and push-button start.
The BE, or Black Edition, includes the standard features of the ES CVT in addition to 15-inch black alloy wheels, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. Shoppers can change the BE’s color at an additional cost, with the exception of the black roof, starting from $150 to $545. This trim also comes with a dark gray and red interior, with fabric seats in both models.
The Mirage ES CVT, LE and SE trims come with black fabric seats, but these trims in the Mirage G4 include the option of lighter gray seats at no additional cost.
A new tonneau cover is now standard on the Mirage hatchback. It slides over the hatchback’s cargo area to keep items in the trunk out of view from passersby.
