It’s that time of year when, after months of new 2025 vehicles flooding dealer lots, model years again align with the calendar year. Confusion dissipates and clarity descends — except in Jeep showrooms, where the brand’s first all-electric SUV, the 2024 Wagoneer S, will be arriving soon.

Powertrain Specs and Range

There’s more obfuscation than just its chronological discontinuity to the electric Jeep SUV, which shares no major pieces with the gas-powered Wagoneers. Rather, it’s based on Jeep parent Stellantis’ new electric-vehicle platform, which also underpins the Dodge Charger Daytona. Like the Charger, the Jeep Wagoneer S packs a 100.5-kilowatt-hour battery; here, the pack is good for a maximum of 303 miles, per the EPA. Jeep says it will recharge from 5% to 80% in just 28 minutes on a DC fast charger.

Also like the Charger, the Wagoneer S has a pair of electric motors, one powering each axle. They combine for a total of 600 horsepower and 617 pounds-feet of torque, just 30 hp and 10 pounds-feet shy of the high-output Charger Daytona Scat Pack. That’s said to be enough to fling the electric Jeep to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 124 mph.

Loaded for Launch

To start, there will only be one trim level available for the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, the fully loaded Launch Edition. While it does not get Stellantis’ new semi-autonomous Hands-Free Active Driving Assist system, it otherwise features a full complement of safety tech: forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, front cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor and road-sign recognition. When you arrive, a 360-degree camera system and front and rear parking sensors help you park like a pro, or you can let the Wagoneer S park itself.

In addition to its safety systems, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition boasts all of the comfort and luxury features in Jeep’s portfolio. It rides on 20-inch wheels and has LED exterior lighting, an illuminated grille with approach lighting, dual-pane panoramic moonroof, hands-free power liftgate, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and keyless entry and start.

Inside, the Launch Edition is upholstered in perforated synthetic leather and features front and rear heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control that users interact with through a 10.25-inch touchscreen.

Speaking of screens, the Wagoneer S has nearly as many of them as it does windows. In addition to the climate-control panel, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch display for the front passenger, 10-inch head-up display and digital rearview mirror that gives the driver a clear view aft even if their line of sight is obstructed by people or cargo. The main infotainment interface is a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and satellite radio; a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system and wireless phone charging are also standard.

Availability and Pricing

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will be on sale soon. The base price (including $1,795 destination fee) is $71,995.
