2024 Chevrolet Camaro: Last Dance With the Panther

We know that 2024 will be the final model year for the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro and that it will be a short model year, as Chevrolet previously announced production will end in January. What we don’t know is what will come next for the fabled gas-powered muscle car, but for the meantime, the 2024 Camaro starts at $32,495 (all prices include $1,595 for delivery).

Collector’s and Garage 56 Editions
If shoving stacks of cash in a dealer’s face will keep your hands from wringing, we now know details on the 2024 Camaro. We previously detailed the Collector’s Edition, which will be available on all Camaro trim levels and wears aero addenda and Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint in honor of the first-gen Camaro’s development nickname. Chevrolet will build as many LT, RS and SS Collector’s Editions as people order, but production of the ZL1 Collector’s Edition will be limited to 350 examples fitted with numbered steering wheel plaques.
ZL1 buyers can also get a Garage 56 Edition car to commemorate the Camaro NASCAR stocker’s running at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this past June. (Garage 56 is a noncompeting slot reserved by Le Mans organizers to allow innovative cars to run the race as an exhibition without filling a spot on the grid that would otherwise be occupied by a car competing for points.) The Garage 56 Edition wears Riptide Blue Metallic paint — one of two new colors for this year — and graphics inspired by the race car’s. A broad white stripe outlined in gold runs down the center of the car, with a black-and-gray American flag decal covering the hood bulge and flowing up onto the roof. A prominent front splitter, dive planes and a wickerbill spoiler like those used in NASCAR complete the look. In honor of its class name, the Garage 56 Edition will be limited to just 56 examples.
Powertrains and Trim Levels
Aside from those editions and the newly available Nitro Yellow paint, the sixth-generation Camaro enters its final year unchanged. The 1LT, 2LT and 3LT models are still powered by a 335-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine; LT1, 1SS and 2SS models get a 455-hp, 6.2-liter V-8; and the ZL1 has a 650-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. All come standard with a six-speed manual transmission; a 10-speed automatic costs $1,595 across the board. Coupe and convertible body styles are available in every trim level, with each convertible costing $6,000 more than the equivalent coupe.

When announcing the end of production for the sixth-generation, Chevrolet global vice president Scott Bell reassured us that, “this is not the end of Camaro’s story,” but offered no further details. There’s plenty of time for GM to fit in one more gas-powered Camaro before its self-imposed deadline to go all electric by 2035, but if you want to be sure your Camaro burns fuel, act fast.
