Ahead of opening a limited number of reservations for the performance-oriented 2024 Acura Integra Type S, the brand is giving prospective shoppers more insight into what they can expect to pay for the compact sports sedan. The Type S is the latest variant to join the redesigned Integra lineup; it brings a brawnier powertrain, a standard manual transmission, sportier styling and a starting price tag of $51,995 (includes $1,195 destination).
The performance advantages of the 320-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Type S will likely come with a significant compromise in fuel economy. The brand says the sedan is expected to get 21/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined, though its official rating has not yet been published on the EPA’s website. The standard 2024 Integra, with its 200-hp, turbo 1.5-liter four-cylinder and automatic transmission, is EPA-rated for up to 30/37/33 mpg.

The Integra Type S is a premium cousin of the Honda Civic Type R, and it also competes with luxury sports sedans including the Audi S3, BMW M235i Gran Coupe and Cadillac CT4-V. The Civic Type R and Integra Type S share the same powertrain, but the Type R makes a marginally lower 315 hp and comes with a lower starting price of $44,890 (all prices include destination). Among other rivals, 2023 versions of the S3 start at $47,895; the M235i Gran Coupe at $48,595; and the CT4-V at $47,990.
Acura will open reservations for the first 200 production units of the 2024 Integra Type S on its website May 11. The sedan is expected to begin arriving at dealerships in June.
