2024 Acura Integra: Type S Hits Dealerships, Lineup Priced From $32,695

After reintroducing the Integra name to Americans for the 2023 model year, Acura’s entry-level sedan delivers on the performance promise of its name with the 2024 Type S. Between the ground-up overhaul of the model and the introduction of a derivative boasting 60% more power than the base drivetrain, the Integra has had a big couple of years. Now, pricing is available for the full 2024 lineup: The Integra starts at $32,695 (all prices include a $1,195 destination charge).

Performance

The 2024 Acura Integra is available in four trim levels: base, A-Spec, A-Spec with Technology Package, and Type S. All but the Type S pack a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 200 horsepower and 192 pounds-feet of torque; the Type S’s turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder generates 320 hp and 310 pounds-feet of torque, and it redlines 500 rpm higher than the 1.5-liter at 7000 rpm, which matters to the brand’s performance faithful.

The base Integra and the A-Spec are only available with a continuously variable automatic transmission, while those who get the A-Spec with Technology Package get a no-cost choice between the CVT and a six-speed manual. The Type S can only be had with the manual. All are front-wheel drive only.

Trim Levels

The base Integra rides on aluminum 17-inch wheels and features a moonroof, LED lighting front and rear, and keyless entry and starting. Inside, you’ll find synthetic leather, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, ambient lighting and silver-painted trim. There’s also a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and eight speakers. All Integras also come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-centering steering, lane departure steering assist, traffic-sign recognition, blind spot monitors and rear cross-traffic alert. The base Integra is EPA-rated at 30/37/33 mpg city/highway/combined.

The A-Spec’s wheels grow an inch, and its steering ratio is quicker than the base. It also has unique front and rear fascias and a lip spoiler. Inside, the A-Spec sports contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shifter, as well as dark metallic trim. It’s rated by the EPA at 29/36/32 mpg.

As mentioned, the A-Spec with Technology Package opens up the six-speed manual as a no-cost option. Regardless of transmission, the Technology Package also adds adaptive dampers, active noise cancellation, welcome lighting, integrated turn signals, a reverse tilting function for the side mirrors, a 12-way power driver’s seat with memory, four-way power front passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, remote starting, a head-up display and a 16-speaker audio system. The infotainment system gets a larger 9-inch screen, and there are additional USB chargers in the front and rear, satellite and HD radio, wireless phone charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and Wi-Fi connectivity. The Technology Package doesn’t change the CVT’s fuel economy, but the manual transmission does, dropping it to 26/36/30 mpg.

In addition to its vastly more powerful four-cylinder, the Type S gets a thorough chassis rework, with a unique front suspension, a steering ratio quicker than the A-Spec’s, larger brakes all around with four-piston Brembo calipers up front, and 19-inch wheels with summer rubber. The Type S ditches the moonroof, and its aggressively flared fenders, unique hood and styling, and triple-exit exhaust make it readily identifiable — as does the rip from that exhaust, which sports an active valve for enhanced pleasure at wider throttle openings. The larger engine is thirstier than the 1.5-liter, rating just 21/28/24 mpg.
