The 2023 Dodge Durango is entering the new model year with the return of the popular SRT Hellcat and minor updates that will trickle down to the rest of the Durango lineup.

The big news for 2023 is the return of the SRT Hellcat. Originally envisioned to be a limited-production model for the 2021 model year, strong demand and equally vibrant sales encouraged Dodge to bring it back. The SRT Hellcat is basically the same as it was in 2021, but Dodge has now added Plus and Premium variants to the trim that add luxury equipment including a power moonroof, leather seats and a premium audio system.

The rest of the updates to the Durango are minor. Four new colors are available (Frostbite, Night Moves, Red Oxide and Triple Nickel), heated front seats are now standard equipment, and forward collision alert is now standard on the base SXT.

Performance for the 2023 Durango comes from a quartet of engines. Base models get a 295-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6. This engine can be swapped out for the optional 360-hp, 5.7-liter V-8. The SRT gets a 475-hp, 6.4-liter V-8, and the range-topping Hellcat swaps it out for a 710-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. Rear-wheel drive is standard on most Durango variants, with buyers having the ability to opt for all-wheel drive instead, but SRT models are AWD only. All Durangos get a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.
