The 2023 X4 lineup carries over largely unchanged, with the exception of one minor alteration to its equipment list: It’s the latest BMW model to eliminate gesture control from its optional Premium Package.

Meanwhile, the interior retains its standard 10.25-inch infotainment system, while a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen is available; both systems come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. Other features include multi-zone climate control, heated front seats and a panoramic moonroof. M variants add more sport-focused features inside, including heavily bolstered sport seats and carbon-fiber accents.

The base xDrive30i variant is powered by a 248-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The M40i gets a 382-hp, turbo 3.0-liter inline-six, and the range-topping X4 M comes with a 473-hp, twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that’s capable of 503 hp with the Competition Package. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard across the lineup.
