2020 Hyundai Palisade Earns 5-Star Crash-Test Score From Feds

Its high safety scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as well as its list of generous standard safety features are just two reasons — among many — that Cars.com gave the 2020 Hyundai Palisade our Best of 2020 award. Putting yet another feather in the Palisade’s cap, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today announced the Palisade earned a five-star crash-test rating, the agency’s highest.

Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the three-row SUV earned an overall rating of five stars. The Palisade earned five stars in NHTSA’s front crash tests, which include driver-side and passenger-side tests, and in side crash evaluations, which include front- and rear-seat tests. The Palisade earned just four stars out of five in the agency’s rollover test, though NHTSA noted that the SUV did not tip over during testing and has a low rollover risk.
NHTSA also commended the Palisade for having several recommended safety features, such as standard equipment, including forward collision warning with automatic braking and lane departure warning.
The Palisade’s cousin, the 2020 Kia Telluride, also earned an overall score of five stars from NHTSA.
