2019-2020 Jeep Cherokee: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 5,300 model-year 2019-20 Jeep Cherokee SUVs

The Problem: The steering rack gear may break, possibly causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the steering gear for free.

What Owners Should Do: Jeep manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will begin notifying owners Oct. 18. Owners can call FCA at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
