2018 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Photo Gallery

SUVs are all the sales rage right now, from the tiny subcompact utes all the way to the full-size beasts. Chevrolet’s entry, the Tahoe, is among the most popular, and the new RST model should catch the eye of those looking to add some sport to their utility; RST, after all, stands for “rally sport truck.” For Cars.com’s 2018 Full-Size SUV Challenge, we tested a 2018 Tahoe RST, which starts as the Tahoe Premier trim and adds exterior styling goodies as well as performance upgrades.

Outside, exterior styling additions include blacked-out trim, a black grille, a black Chevy Bow Tie in the grille, 22-inch black-and-polished wheels, and black mirror caps, beltline moldings and roof rails.

The Tahoe is amped up under the hood, too, with an optional 6.2-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 420 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevy says it’s good for a zero-to-60-mph sprint of 5.7 seconds and a max towing capacity of 8,400 pounds.

The model doesn’t come cheap, however. The one we tested clocked in at $78,155, including a $1,295 destination charge — a sum in line with luxury competitors like the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade.
