2017 Toyota Highlander, Highlander Hybrid: Recall Alert
CARS.COM
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 1,100 model-year 2017 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs equipped with accessory roof rail crossbars
The Problem: The fasteners for the roof rails may not be torqued properly, possibly allowing the rails to loosen and detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealership network Gulf States Toyota will inspect and properly torque the fasteners for free.
What Owners Should Do: GST will begin notifying owners Sept. 25. Owners can call the dealership network at 800-444-1074, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
