CARS.COM — With the Scion brand eighty-sixed earlier this year, Toyota is unveiling the 86 at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. The erstwhile Scion FR-S isn’t just getting a new badge and a name, but groovier, edgier exterior styling, too.
The 86 gets a wider, toothier-looking grille and pointier, more talon-like LED headlights with a bejeweled appearance. Above them sits a curvier, more arch-browed slope along the sides of the hood up to the windshield. Toyota also reshaped the rear bumper but retained the black lower insert with dual tailpipes, and shaved off the rear spoiler.
