2017 Subaru Impreza Review: Photo Gallery
CARS.COM — The Subaru Impreza will be comin’ in hot to our 2017 Compact Sedan Challenge, hot off a redesign for the 2017 model year and still the lone competitor with standard all-wheel drive. Cars.com reviewer Jennifer Geiger says the latest overhaul “morphs the Impreza from unlovable underdog to a promising player in the compact class thanks to a slick new multimedia system, composed road manners and an impressive value proposition, though some quirks — like an unrefined powertrain — remain.”

Our Ice Silver Metallic, 2.0i Premium test car for the Challenge rang in at $22,519, including an $820 destination charge. It bore the redesign’s wider, lower stance and beefed-up athletic appearance courtesy of muscular wheel arches, 16-inch alloy wheels, an enlarged grille and hooklike LED headlights. Inside, our Impreza had sporty, two-tone gray-and-black cloth upholstery and carbon-fiber-like trim on the door panels.
Convenience and tech features included a standard backup camera, Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system with a 6.5-inch display, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration.
