CARS.COM

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 800 model-year 2017 Infiniti Q50 and Q50 Hybrid sedans

The Problem: The driver’s frontal airbag inflator may have been improperly welded. In a crash necessitating airbag deployment, the inflator may crack and release the gas needed to properly deploy the airbag, increasing the risk of an injury.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator for free.

What Owners Should Do: Infiniti manufacturer Nissan will begin notifying owners Oct. 30. Owners can call the automaker at 800-662-6200 (select Option 7), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
