2016-2020 Lincoln MKX, Nautilus: Recall Alert
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 19,300 model-year 2016-20 Lincoln MKX and Nautilus SUVs
The Problem: There may be insufficient clearance between the driver and/or front passenger seat wiring harness and the seat cushion pan, which could cause wiring harness abrasion. If certain wires in the seat wiring harness are damaged through contact with the seat cushion frame, the airbag system may not perform as intended in some circumstances, increasing the risk of injury.
Lincoln manufacturer Ford said it is not aware of any related accidents or injuries.
The Fix: Dealers will install flocking tape on the exposed edge of the 16-way seat cushion frames, inspect the wire harness, and repair or replace, as needed, for free.
What Owners Should Do: Ford did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call the autommaker at 866-436-7332, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
