Volkswagen’s Golf R may be the most powerful production Golf ever — with a 292-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 4.9-second zero to 60 mph sprint — but VW showed some restraint with the sporty hatchback’s styling.
The Golf R’s sport-tuned suspension rides 0.8 inches lower than the Golf and 0.2 inches lower than the already sporty GTI. Performance-oriented styling cues include R specific bumpers, side skirt and rear diffuser as well as a quad-tipped exhaust in back.
