Redesigned last year, the Range Rover Sport uses a platform derived from Land Rover’s flagship Range Rover SUV. It features a lightweight aluminum structure and is powered by a standard 340-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6. A third-row seat is optional and with it there’s seating for seven. Competitors include the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Porsche Cayenne.
New for 2015 A high-performance SVR trim level with a sport-tuned chassis, unique design details and a 550-hp, supercharged V-8 joins the lineup. A Driver Assistance Package includes lane departure warning, self-parking modes and surround parking sensors. Satellite radio and HD radio are standard.
