When a small hammer isn’t getting the job done, the most obvious solution is to get a bigger hammer, right? Dodge is bringing out its biggest hammer with the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat — its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 makes a whopping 707 horsepower. Dodge says it’s the most powerful V-8 it’s ever produced and the most powerful muscle car ever.
The full 707 hp is unleashed when drivers use a red key fob; the second black key fob lowers output to a measly 500 hp. Is it overkill that the black key loses 200 horsepower and still has more power than a regular 485-hp Challenger SRT? Hell, no; bring it on. The Challenger SRT Hellcat hits dealerships in the third quarter of 2014. There’s no word yet on pricing.
