Vehicles Affected: Approximately 6,000 model-year 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLK250, model-year 2016 SLK350 and model-year 2016-17 SLC300 roadsters; and model-year 2017 Mercedes-AMG SLC43 roadsters

The Problem: The electronic stability control system software may incorrectly keep the brakes slightly applied, which may heat up the brake components over long periods of driving, affecting braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the dragging brakes may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The Fix: Dealers will update the software for the electronic stability control system for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners in late June. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
